Know the Ranking Factors?

Every webmaster want to know the Google’s ranking factors, though they know little or more, but surely not all that factors that Google considers to rank particular website.
In the middle of September, 2010, Google’s Eric Schmidt said that listing Google’s 200 ranking factors would reveal business secrets. Although Google does not officially publish their ranking algorithms, there is something that you can do to crack Google’s secret algorithm.
Basically, Google follows about 200 ranking factors that help them decide the position of a web page in the search results. But sorry to say, Google won’t raise its curtain so that we can know its ranking factors.
Anyhow, web pages have to follow these 200 factors that will help you see your site on top ranking.

Below are some of the factors that Google revealed in the past, which if added to website can increase its chances of high rank consideration by Google:
  • the presence of a search term in the HTML body copy,
  • the speed of the web site,
  • search terms in bold fonts,
  • search terms in header tags,
  • the presence of a search term in the HTML title tag,
  • the PageRank of a page (not the toolbar PageRank, the actual PageRank),
  • the PageRank of the entire domain,
  • the presence of a search term in anchor text in links to a page…
Following the above listed guidelines, one can easily experience and understand the frequency in which these tactics need to be used/repeated for a particular website.
It is a long run analysis to understand how a website responds to any particular marketing effort. So it is needless to say that, experimenting, practicing, and keeping updated with latest Google news and reviews is the key to a websites promotion on Search Engine Result Pages.
